Coles Crocs Volunteer Information
Hello and Welcome to the Crocs!
We are excited to get our swim season underway! As many of you know from past years swimming, or from our parents meeting, all families that swim for the Crocs also have the honor of volunteering for the many shifts that help our swim meets flow quickly and correctly.
This season, each family is responsible for volunteering for 6 shifts that will total 6 points. These shifts are for our regular season meets. Our divisional meets will also need volunteers (all swimmers swim at divisionals) which is not included in our 6 shifts. Additionally our invitational meets will require that swimmer families volunteer as well. All of our volunteer shifts/jobs are all 1 point this year. All positions are easy and necessary and each family will have the chance to choose what they sign up to do.
On Sundays (starting this week, May 1st) a sign up will start at 8:00 pm on our Crocs website. Please set an alarm and sign into www.colescrocs.org and click on the button for Volunteer sign ups starting at 8:00pm. Every family will be signing in at this time and quickly choosing their assignment for the upcoming pep rally or swim meet. Shifts go quickly! Please sign on to choose yours for your family. PLEASE ONLY CHOOSE ONE SHIFT. On Tuesdays, sign ups will open for parents to choose a second shift if needed.
What types of shifts are needed? We need timers, ready bench workers, concession stand help, grillers, trash pickup, set up, take down just to name a few. All shifts are simple! If you are hoping to lead in any of these areas ( leads dont have to sign in each week and are able to help the volunteers in their area) then please advise! We are in need of the following leads:
Set up - arrive early and prepare the lap pool for the meet.
Ready Bench - organize swimmers for their next event.
Announcer - fun and upbeat personality to announce the events and sponsors thru out the meet.
Computer Desk - Work with Ginger to input times at meet.
Take down - end of meet clean up and put away of swim team items.
Please email me at [email protected] for more information on the following leads.
Please note - if you feel that there is no way you can work your shifts to satisfy your volunteer requirements, please consider sharing your responsibilties with another swim family - they watch your swimmers while you work a shift and vise versa. Another option is to help with our pep rallies on Friday nights (there are only a few spots, so you must sign up quickly) to free you up on Saturdays. Additionally you could "hire" a teenager to complete your assignment. Some are available thru Cy Woods Key Club, or some of our older swimmers could possibly help with set up or take down. They would not be available to time or scribe during a meet however. If you have a teenager that could help with this, please email me and I will add their name to a running list for parents to access. Again my email is [email protected]
Thank you all, we appreciate your willingness to volunteer! If you have any questions please reach out and remember that Time Trials is set for May 7th and we need all swimmers on deck - you MUST get a time for events you wish to swim this season. Please avoid missing time trials!! We need you!
