Swim teams take a large number of volunteers to run effectively. The team needs your family's help throughout the season!
As a member of the team, your family is required to volunteer. You will be able to sign-up for volunteer positions prior to each meet. The jobs are now weighted by a point system with each family is required to work a minimum of 12 points, plus one shift during the divisional meet (if they have a swimmer in the meet). A $300 deposit check will be collected at the beginning of the season. Families that complete the required volunteer shifts will have their checks destroyed at the end of the season. Families that do not fulfill their volunteer obligations will have their checks cashed.
Volunteer sign up will open at about 8:00 pm on the Sunday before each meet. You will be able to log in to the website and sign up for a volunteer position at that time. For the first 24 hours of sign up, the number of positions one family may fill will be limited so that everyone has a chance to sign up for a volunteer spot before anyone signs up for multiple jobs. After this time period, the volunteer posts will be opened up so that families can sign up for additional slots if needed. Positions will be allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis.
It is important to note that many of the volunteer shift times are estimates. For example, if you sign up as a timer from 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m., your shift starts when the meet starts (8:30 a.m.) and ends at a certain event number. 11:30 a.m. is an estimate of what time that will happen. Another example is takedown. The time frame is an estimate. We start taking down 15 minutes or so before the meet ends and continue until the job is finished.
