BRIDGELAND MEET: First, thank you all for showing up and fighting for every point you could on Saturday. Those of you that showed up for your team...I can't thank you enough. We went into this meet with less than half of our 11/12, 13/14 and girls 15-18 teams (competing with Fleet Long Course Meet, Band/Orchestra/Choir Trip to Splashtown, and a Cy-Woods Powder Puff Game that was moved from Friday night to Saturday Morning). I knew it was going to be a tough one. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THE MEET IF YOU ARE NOT GOING TO COME. We had a few called that morning that didn't remember signing up. Do your best to try to figure out your timeline at other events so that we can make sure your swimmer is signed up for the events they have the best chance of making. YOU MUST CIRCLE IN BEFORE OR BY 7:30 AM. We scratched a few individuals that showed up around 7:45 AM begging to be put back into the meet. To pile on top of that we had several people leave early missing individual events and causing quite a few gaps in relays. All of this to say...DO NOT LEAVE EARLY WITHOUT LETTING COACH FRENCH KNOW and please make every attempt to stay and swim what you are signed up for...WE ARE COUNTING ON YOU! I can't make relay changes at the blocks as the event is already starting. It's so frustrating and upsetting to the swimmers you let down that are standing at the block with only 3 to swim and get DQd simply because you didn't stay for the relay. We finished the meet losing by only 1 pt. When I tell you every swimmer counts...I mean it! That is just one race...individual or relay that would have flipped the result. Let's come CROC STRONG this coming week against the Shockwaves!
THIS WEEK's MEET against the Northpointe Shockwaves: Please try to pick any events that you haven't already swum this season. After this meet, I will be more particular about what you are swimming. Also, this week's meet is the last opportunity you have to qualify for the Mid-Season Invitational Meet SUMMER THUNDER. Sign up DEADLINE for SUMMER THUNDER is this SATURDAY...if you are already qualified sign up now...I need to start looking at RELAYS early for this one. If you have any questions about Summer Thunder, please let me know [email protected].
