    Safety Check

    Good morning Crocs!

Everyone receiving this email has a swimmer that is new to the team this year - if your new Croc swimmer will be 8 or younger as of May 1, we will need them to attend one of the Safety Check sessions this weekend.  Older swimmers are exempt from Safety Check requirements.

For Safety Check, we want to make sure they can swim well enough to be safe in the pool at practice with 50 other kids.  They will be asked, one at a time, to swim a length of the pool (25 yards) for a coach.  There is no speed requirement; they just need to be willing and able to make it to the other end without help, and with a minimum of stops along the way. If they have to stop and rest on the lane rope for a moment, that's ok as long as they get going again and don't stop too many times.  At the end of the check, the coach that watches your Croc will let you know if they are ready to be on swim team this year.  If they're ready, just show up for practice on Monday.  If not, you'll be offered a refund and be welcome to try again next summer.

The plan is to have the two sessions at the regular Crocs pool across from Sampson, one on Saturday from 9-11am, and one on Sunday from 2-4pm.  There's a chance the sessions may be moved to a different place (Villa Sport?) or time due to low pool temperatures.  Please keep an eye on the website and your email for information if that happens - if you don't see anything there, it's a go as planned.

See you at the pool, and Go Crocs!!!
