Time Trials 101
We've been getting a lot of questions about Time Trials, and how it's run, etc. Time Trials is run like any other meet. There is a list of events that take place in sequence through the day. Your swimmer will have some events scattered throughout the day.
To give new families a general idea, I'm attaching the estimated Timeline for last year's Time Trials meet - our team is about the same size this year, so this should provide a general idea of how things might progress. As you look at this, please remember that (1) THIS IS LAST YEAR'S ESTIMATED TIMELINE - THIS YEAR WILL NOT BE EXACTLY THE SAME and (2) THIS IS AN ESTIMATED TIMELINE ONLY. THE ACTUAL MEET MAY RUN SLOWER OR FASTER, DEPENDING ON WHAT HAPPENS THAT DAY.
If things run fairly smoothly, Time Trials is usually finished around 2 or so. Again, it may run longer - it might even go quicker. But part of the reason for Time Trials is to get the bugs worked out of our processes to prepare for next week's meet against another team, so sometimes things aren't quite as smooth as we'd like them to be... We're all learning at this first meet.
Hope this provides some helpful info. If you have questions, please contact us.
