Divisional Championship Info
Crocs!
It's time! Tomorrow is the biggest meet of the season, our Divisional Championship! Important info below!
PEP RALLY:
Our final Pep Rally of the season is tonight at 6! We'll have pizza, games, and hear from our coaches to get everyone ready for tomorrow's Championship Meet! Ribbons from previous meets will be available for pick up at the Pep Rally - just look for the ribbons boxes! Come on out to get ready for the meet and encourage your teammates!
DIVISIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP:
Divisional is at Cy Ranch HS this week. There is a file attachment to the meet on our website called Meet Announcement - this shows all kinds of things about the meet. I'm not attaching it to this email because it's a BIG file but please take a look if you have any questions. Here's a link directly to the file: Meet Announcement
MORNING SETUP/PARKING: You are welcome to park in front or back of Cy Ranch HS. There will be a small section reserved for officials, coaches, etc in front of the natatorium. Otherwise park anyplace that's not roped off or otherwise illegal. Available entrances are at the end of the hall toward the pool, or doors in the back of the cafeteria area. The front doors will be locked and not available per CFISD requirements.
On the inside of the main part of the school, the area is divided by team. Our team setup area is in the cafeteria on the side farthest from the pool - there's a map in the meet announcement. Please set up inside the blue taped area only. The whole team will be in half of the cafeteria, so please set up to save space - no big circles with blankets in the middle, etc. There is additional info on this subject in the Meet Announcement. If you spread out too far, you may be asked to squeeze in so all of us can have a little space.
There is NO SETUP on the higher part along both sides of the cafeteria and close to the window - those are to be left open due to fire code. If you try to set up there, you will be required to move or CFISD has stated that they will have you removed.
There will be food trucks in the parking lot behind the cafeteria for your breakfast, lunch and snacking needs, but no concessions inside the school.
CIRCLE IN BY 7:30 AM:
Like every week, all swimmers MUST circle in by 7:30 in the team area to tell the computer volunteers that they are there. If a swimmer's name is not circled, the clerk of course assumes they are not there and they may be scratched from the meet. If you're running late, contact a friend and get them to circle in for you - you don't want to show up and find out your swimmer has been scratched! Look for the circle-in boards in the team set up area - they'll be there!
OTHER STUFF:
If you go to the home tab on the team website & click on 'meet
entry' (even though it says it's closed), it will have a list of the
event #s that your child is
swimming, including relays. It is very helpful to write their event numbers on their arm
with a sharpie (and maybe yours too!) so they can listen for their events and know when to go to the ready bench to line up.
RELAY ETIQUETTE: VERY IMPORTANT!!!! If your swimmer is in a relay at the end of the meet, PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE EARLY. If you do, you will be letting down the other 3 swimmers on the relay team who will have to scratch without you! If you must leave early, TELL THE COACHES before you leave - if you will do that, they may be able to place a substitute on the relay team so they don't have to scratch.
WARM-UPS will begin at 7:10 this week, and they are required for all swimmers.
WEATHER- 100% chance of air conditioning!!! Please keep in mind that it will be VERY HOT outside. The pool area also tends to be very hot and humid, so be prepared to stay hydrated!
VOLUNTEERS- There is no common volunteer check in area. The lead in your area will confirm you are there for your shift and report back to make sure you get credit. Please listen for the announcer to announce shift changes, timer/scribe meeting, officials meeting and ready bench meeting. If you have questions, ask the lead in your area or look for Ashley Yoakem or Alexis Dempsy, or come by the announcers area.
CHECKLIST for what you should bring: swimmers!!, suits, goggles, caps, water, a sharpie, towels, chairs, food/snacks (or you can buy them!) & LOTS of patience!! PLEASE remember that the parents running the meet are all volunteers and want everything to run as smoothly and quickly as possible but there will always be some hiccups along the way.
TIMELINE: There is an ESTIMATED timeline attached for your general information.
Please
note that this is ESTIMATED only! The meet may progress faster or
slower than this estimate, but it should give you a general idea what to
expect.
There is also a Psych sheet showing entries for the meet in each event. These files can also be found with the meet on the team website.
Go Crocs!!!!
