SAFETY ISSUE AT PRACTICE
PARENTS WE NEED YOUR HELP! We are having an issue at practice with unsupervised kids in the parking lot and near the main street (Coles Crossing Drive in between our lap pool and the school) while practice is happening. The whole reason we have a NO PARENTS ON DECK policy during practice is so that the coaches can focus on the swimmers in the water and devote our time there. It is very hard to do that when we have to leave the pool to address things like: kids screaming and running around outside of the gate, climbing trees just outside of the gate, darting across the main road in front of cars, standing on top of cars in the parking lot, throwing balls over the gate and then yelling at the coaches to retrieve them. If this is not fixed, we may have to turn that policy into a DROP and GO with no one allowed to hang out and watch from the gate.
1. Do not drop your swimmer off or let them come to practice too early. 5 min before is plenty of time, 10-15 min turns into bored kids that will get into trouble while waiting.
2. Please watch younger siblings if you do stay and hang out. The parking lot and the grass near the street is not a playground. Actually...bring your child over to Sampson inside the gate where the playground is, if you need to entertain them and do not want to go home.
