    COACHES CORNER WEEK 4

    MEET REMINDERS -

Do not forget to circle in.  We had to call many individuals that either did not circle in or missed circling in on the Relay Board. This coming week at an away meet I will not be able to take the MIC and call people out.  If you are not circled in, you will be removed from the meet.

Do not leave the meet early without letting Coach French know.  If you leave the meet early leaving your team without a sub causing us to scramble at the last second or scratch completely, you will be removed from relays the following week.  I spent most of my day looking for replacements for FREE relays and cannot do this each week.  If you know ahead of time that you will need to leave earlier than normal send me an email before WED and I will make sure I do not put your swimmer in a FREE relay at the end of the meet.

SIGN UP - Don't forget to sign up for your events this week no later than TUES at midnight!

PRACTICE - These items need to be corrected ASAP.

Parking - Please do not park along the curbs of the median.  This makes it very hard to get through for drop off or pick up. Do not park in the HANDICAP spots, if you do not have a HANG TAG.

Parent Spectating is at an all time high during 6&U, 7/8, and 9/10.  The kids are having a very hard time focusing and hearing the coaches with all of the side chatter going on in the parent section.  We are going to limit you to the breezeway (if you need shade) or in the grass (if you need room to spread out because you have siblings).  NO PARENTS ON THE POOL DECK OR BRICK.  You may absolutely DROP off and PICK up, if that is easier.  If you decide to stay and have younger siblings with you, you MUST watch them at all times.  Coach Amy and myself had to physically pick up 2 toddlers and walk them back to the parent section because they were right next to the pool.  We cannot COACH 60+ kids and babysit all of their siblings at the same time.  Other teams do not allow parents to stay at all and watch practice.  I do not want to have to start doing this, if we can help it.

KIDS RUNNING ACROSS THE STREET TO GET TO PRACTICE - Please talk with your kids about looking both ways before crossing the driveway or the street to and from practice.  I've seen several vehicles SLAM on their BRAKES to avoid hitting a child.
