    Volunteer Information

    Hello Croc Volunteers,

    Here is some information to help all of our volunteers as we get the 2017 swim season underway this weekend.  Please read the volunteer role descriptions found on the Documents section of the website.  These will also be posted at the Information Table.  In order to get credit for volunteering at the pep rallies or swim meets, you must sign in.  The sign in process and location is slightly different depending on your role.  See below for details.

    Shift Times - For the meet related shifts, please keep track of the event numbers by listening to the announcements and checking the event sign (location varies depending on pool).  Our volunteer shifts are based on the events – Shift 1 is Event 1 – 38/39, Shift 2 is Event 39/40 – 78.  The concession stand shifts are time based.

    Pep Rally

    A sign in sheet will be at the swimmer number writing table which is usually next to the concession stand.  The pep rally setup/serve shifts begin at 5.  Number writing volunteers usually begin at 6PM; however, they will need to be there at 5:30 for the Kick-Off Party since pictures will be taken and lots of folks will be on hand.

    Setup/Take Down/ & Equipment Transportation Roles

    Setup begins at 6AM and goes until things are ready, usually 7:30.  Jeff Kowalski and Lloyd Waugh are the setup/take down coordinators for this season and will be directing traffic for the morning setup and after meet take down.  Please sign in with Jeff or Lloyd.    

    Concessions/Grillers/ Food prep & Pick-Up

    Sign in sheets will be in the concessions room.  Refer to the Concessions Instructions 2017 found in the Documents section of the website (especially for those doing food prep/pick-up/delivery roles).

    Timers & Scribes

    Timers and scribes will be checked in and assigned lanes by Glen Orr at the beginning of the shift.  There will be a meeting before the meet for all timers and scribes usually around 8 AM for volunteers for ALL shifts to make sure everyone is comfortable with the watches and processes. 

    Other Volunteers

    All other volunteers should check in at the Information Table before your shift (which is near the starting block end of the pool (at least at home swim meets…. The location may be different at away meets)

    Questions during meet – If you have questions about the volunteer slot you signed up for, need directions or help with anything, the Information Table is the place to go.  I will have a list of role descriptions and the sign in sheet at the table.  Please do not go to the computer table with questions as they are trying to keep the meet moving.  We do not want to slow that down or interfere with their work.
