Volunteer Info and sign up instructions

    Hello Coles Crocs Volunteers,

Welcome to the start of the 2017 season.  This is Giles Eastwood and I will be the Volunteer Coordinator for the team this year.  With the time trials meet just around the corner, volunteer sign up gets under way tonight.

Every week during the season you will have the opportunity to sign up for volunteer shifts for the upcoming swim meet starting at 8:00 PM on the Sunday before the meet.  The sign up is first come, first serve.  As we did last year, we limit each family to 1 volunteer slot during the first 24 hours (Sunday 8PM to Monday 8PM) to give everyone an opportunity to sign up for an available slot.  At 8PM on Monday, the system will allow families to select a second volunteer shift if there are ones available.  We limit sign-ups for meets to no more than two shifts per family. For new parents I should tell you that the popular shifts go very quickly.

You will find that each job has a short description of what you will be doing when you go to sign up.  For the concession shifts there is a document detailing the requirements of each position that you should review if you have never worked them.  Like last year, we are asking that all families complete a minimum of 12 credits (plus 1 shift at Divisionals).

Here are the steps to follow to sign up for a volunteer shift.

    1. Sign into the team website (http://www.colescrocs.swim-team.us/)

    2. Under Events on the left side of the screen, click the ‘V’ next to the appropriate meet
    3. A pop-up window will open with all of the volunteer roles
    4. Click on any box that has ‘Volunteer Needed’ listed
    6. Find your name in the drop down box and select it
    7. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and click SAVE – Important as your position is not saved unless you click Save.

Note that you can go back in and change jobs any time before midnight on Wednesday.

Should you have any further questions about what a particular job does, you may refer to the document Coles Crocs Volunteer Descriptions PDF file located under the Documents on the team web site.

For time trials we need twice as many timers and scribes as normal since it is only our team.  If you don't have experience timing, this is the perfect chance to learn in a low pressure situation.

It takes a large number of volunteers to put on these swim meets for our kids.  Thank you in advance for volunteering and giving all of our kids a fun swim team experience.  I look forward to seeing you at the pool.
