Crocs - Time Trials and More
Welcome to the 2017 Crocs Season!
A couple of items to touch on...
Time Trials:
Time Trials is coming up next Saturday! Swimmer Sign up will open within the next 24 hours or so - be sure and sign your swimmers up. Meet Sign Up Instructions can be found on the website under Documents.
Please remember that Time Trials are VERY IMPORTANT! It's a great way for new swimmers to see what a meet is like without another team around. But most importantly, in order for your swimmer to participate in any additional meets, NWAL rules state that they must first have a time trial time. If your swimmer participates in Time Trials, that's all taken care of. If you already know that it is not possible for a swimmer to be there next Saturday, you must contact Coach French to make alternative arrangements as soon as possible - if you do not do that, your swimmer will not be able to swim in future meets. Coach French can be reached at [email protected].
For Time Trials, please sign your swimmer(s) up for all the events that they may be able to, or want to swim this summer - there is not a limit for Time Trials. Older swimmers will be eligible for, and should swim all 6 events for their age group. Younger swimmers should swim all events in their age group that they know how to do - or kinda know how to do. At Time Trials, there will be no disqualifications - the times will count for future seed times even if the swimmer doesn't quite get it perfect. The officials will let them know what they might need to work on to be legal in the future, but the times still count.
If you have any questions about meet entry, please email [email protected] or [email protected].
Volunteer sign up for Time Trials will also be open starting Sunday night at 8:00. At that time, you will be able to sign up for one job per family. On Monday night at 8, the limits will be changed so that you will be able to sign up for additional jobs that may still be open. If you have questions about Volunteer sign up, please email [email protected] or [email protected].
Team Party:
The annual pre-season team party will be Friday night before Time Trials. At the party, we'll take the official team picture, conduct the tent space auction, and enjoy food, music, and swimming! More info to come.
Age Groups:
One last item. In discussions with the coaches and some parents this week, there has been a little confusion about what age group some of the kids are in. The official age for swim team is the age your swimmer will be on May 31. So if, for example, your swimmer is 8, but has a birthday coming up in May, then they will be 9 on May 31, and are considered a 9 year old for swim team. If on the other hand, your 8 year old swimmer has a birthday in June, they will still be 8 on May 31, and are considered an 8 year old for the whole season.
Please be sure and bring your kiddos to the correct age group practice unless the coaches tell you something else individually.
If you have any questions, please email [email protected] or [email protected].
See you at the pool!
Go Crocs!!!!
