Crocs - Safety Check
Crocs Parents:
If you're receiving this email, you have at least one swimmer that is 8 or younger (as of May 31) and as far as we know, has never been on a swim team before. Please bring your swimmer to one of the two Safety Checks we have scheduled in the next week. The kids will not be able to practice with the team until they have been checked.
We want to make sure that all the beginning Crocs can swim well enough to be safe in the pool with a bunch of other kids at practice. To do that, we ask them to swim one length of the pool (25 yards) for a coach at the Safety Check. They need to be able (and willing) to put their face in the water and swim - if they have to stop a time or two on the ropes to catch their breath, that's ok. They just need to keep going to the other end.
There will be no timing of this swim - no speed requirements at all - just need to make sure they know how to swim. The coaches will also be keeping a close eye on them during the first few practices to make sure they are able to function in a group practice setting.
The two sessions are scheduled for Sunday (4/9) from 2 to 3 and Tuesday 4/11 from 4 to 5 at the regular Crocs pool. Just come to the session that fits your schedule the best at any time during the hour. The kids will need to come ready to swim in a swim suit with a towel and probably goggles. Swim caps are optional.
If you have any questions, please email [email protected] or [email protected].
Go Crocs!!!
