    Crocs This Week

    Crocs:

Congratulations to the coaches and swimmers for the big win on Saturday!  Thank you also to all the parents that stepped up and volunteered - we couldn't have a swim team without all of you!

There are two remaining meets in which every swimmer can participate, this week's dual meet at the Woodlands Waves, and next week's Division W1 Championship!  The week after Divisional, there will be invitational meets available to those swimmers who qualify.

This week, we travel to the Woodlands Waves pool for our final dual meet of the season.  Swimmer sign up is now available, and volunteer sign up will open tonight at 8.  The Waves' pool is only about 35 minutes away according to Google Maps - it's a very easy drive with the new Grand Parkway, so come on out and help the team make a great showing!  As usual, the deadline to sign up your swimmers is Tuesday night at midnight.

This meet is also the last chance to complete your 12 volunteer points.  Divisional is on a separate system.  See you at the Woodlands!

Next week (June 18) is the week our swimmers have been working toward all year - the W1 Division Championship!  Divisional will be held at Cy Springs High School this year - we will have indoor setup, and the kids will be swimming in the Natatorium, so it's all indoors!  All swimmers are needed for Divisional - there are no qualifying times (it's NOT an inviational).  This year, it's even more important for everyone to come - the top 12 swimmers in each event earn team points, so we need all our swimmers!

Divisional is run a lot like a regular dual meet except:

    (1) There are five teams instead of 2

    (2) Time trial times no longer count, so you have to have a legal time in an event to swim it at divisional (For example, if your swimmer has DQ'd every time they've every swum butterfly, they can't swim that stroke at divisional.  But they can still swim any other three events that they have swum legally at any meet.)

    (3) There are only A relays

    (4) The winning team gets a BIG TROPHY!

Otherwise, it's just like a regular dual meet - we need ALL our swimmers to be there and swim their best for the team!

We will ask every family that participates at Divisional to work one volunteer shift at the meet.

Divisional is also the last chance for swimmers to earn qualifying times for the post season invitationals to be held the weekend of June 25, Ponderosa, and Red, White & Blue.  More about the post season invitationals later.

See you at the pool, and Go Crocs!!!!
