Crocs Parent Meeting and Safety Check

    Crocs:

We're almost there!  Practice starts next week!  Before practice though, we have a little team business to take care of.

    Parent Meeting:

The Preseason Parent Meeting is scheduled for this Sunday at the Coles Crossing Community Center.  Doors will open at 4:00 for collecting checks and forms.  The meeting will take place at 4:30 and last around 30 minutes.

This meeting is extremely important to attend, especially for new parents.  At the meeting, we'll discuss what to expect in the coming season.  The Coaches will talk about practice and meets, and we'll also discuss the season schedule and related topics.  For everyone, we'll talk about how the swim team runs on your efforts as volunteers - we'll introduce the new point system for volunteering this year.

We'll also collect remaining fees, Volunteer deposits, and medical forms.  Every family will need to print and fill out a medical form (one per family).  The form is available on the website under Documents.  All families with at least one swimmer under 15 will need to provide a check made out to Coles Crocs for $250 for a volunteer deposit.  This check will be held and destroyed at the end of the season if your family completes their volunteer hours.  For those of you that didn't pay online, we'll also be collecting registration fees and applicable pool use fees for non-Coles Crossing residents (make registration fee checks out to Coles Crocs, and pool use checks to CCCAI).

For those who are unable to be there, I will have a box on my front porch starting tomorrow to collect medical forms and checks.  My address is 13923 Claymont Hill Dr - there will be a plastic box behind the pillar on the front porch.

    Safety Check:

Also happening Sunday is the Safety Check for swimmers who are 8 or younger and have never been on a swim team before.  So if your swimmers are all 9 or older, or if all your younger swimmers have already been on a swim team, you can skip this part!

Starting at 1:00 at the regular Crocs pool across from Sampson, the new swimmers will have a chance to show the coaches that they know how to swim.  To participate in practice safely, swimmers need to be willing and able to get in the pool and swim to the other end without help.  If they have to stop and rest along the ropes a couple of times, that's ok.

If your swimmer is in this group, please come to the pool between 1 and 2 for this important safety check.  If you can, please come between 1 and 1:30 if your name is in the first half of the alphabet, and between 1:30 and 2 for the rest.  If you have to come at the "wrong" time, that's ok, but please try to stick to the requested time if you can to avoid long lines.

If your swimmer is in the group that needs the safety check, but there is no way you can be there at on Sunday, please look for me or Coach French before practice on Monday.  Until these swimmers complete the check, they will not be allowed to practice with the group.  More details to follow...

Please contact us with any questions.

See you Sunday, and Go Crocs!!!
